Plagiarism Policy

Introduction

UKR Publisher is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable. All manuscripts submitted to our journals must be original works and must properly acknowledge the contributions of others.

This plagiarism policy applies to all authors submitting manuscripts to journals published by UKR Publisher.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism occurs when authors present the words, ideas, data, or work of others as their own without proper acknowledgment. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, or data from another source without proper citation.
  • Submitting someone else's work as one's own.
  • Reusing substantial parts of one's own previously published work without proper citation (self-plagiarism).
  • Paraphrasing content from another source without giving appropriate credit.
  • Improper citation or failure to acknowledge the original source.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software before the peer review process begins. The editorial office carefully evaluates similarity reports to identify potential plagiarism.

Manuscripts that show unacceptable levels of similarity may be rejected immediately.

Acceptable Similarity Index

To ensure originality and integrity in scholarly publishing, UKR Publisher follows these similarity guidelines:

  • Acceptable similarity index: Up to 15%
  • Similarity from a single source: Should not exceed 5%

Manuscripts exceeding these limits may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected depending on the severity of the overlap.

Editorial Actions in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected during the editorial or peer review process, the following actions may be taken:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript.
  • Request for correction or rewriting if the similarity is minor.
  • Notification to the authors' affiliated institutions in serious cases.
  • Temporary or permanent ban on future submissions.

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to:

  • Retract the article.
  • Publish a retraction notice.
  • Inform relevant institutions or organizations.

Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts must ensure that:

  • Their work is original and has not been plagiarized.
  • All sources are properly cited and referenced.
  • Proper quotation marks are used where necessary.
  • The manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any copyrighted material used in their manuscripts.

Compliance with Publication Ethics

UKR Publisher follows internationally recognized publication ethics guidelines to prevent plagiarism and maintain research integrity. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to these standards throughout the publication process.
