Influence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Application on Business Education Students for Teaching and Learning Outcomes in Taraba State Tertiary Institutions
The study determined the Influences of information and communication technology (ICT) Application on Business Education Students for Teaching and Learning Outcomes in Taraba State Tertiary Institutions. Two specific objectives, two research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study; descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of the study was 482 Business Education students in the four state tertiary institutions offering Business Education in Taraba State for the 2024/2025 academic Session, the sample size for the study was 263 determined using Taro Yamane formulas. The instrument for data collection is a self-developed structured questionnaire, titled ‘Perceived Influence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Tools on Business Education Teaching and Learning Outcomes Questionnaire (ICTTQ). The ICTTQ was validated by three experts from the faculty of education, Taraba State University. The reliability of ICTTQ was established using Cronbach-alpha method which yielded a reliability index of 0.81, Data collected was analyzed using mean and standard deviation and inferential statistic of chi-square. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS Version 27 was used to answer the research questions while the chi-square statistics was used to test the Null hypotheses. The findings from the study revealed that Computer Assisted Instructions(CAI) has a noticeable influence on instructional outcomes in the state and that Learning Management Systems positively impacts instructional outcomes in Business Education in Taraba State, Nigeria. Finally , it was recommended that lecturers of Business Education in the institutions should continuously use computer assisted instructions in order to influence the learning outcomes of students in the programme and Students of Business Education should be given more opportunities to learn through the learning management system in order to boost their learning outcome in business education.
